Questions we hear a lot

How much does veterinary IT support cost?

It depends on your practice, and we would rather get it right than quote a random figure that turns out to be wrong. Pricing follows a simple, no-pressure path: a free consultation to understand what you need, then a fixed-fee discovery session that assesses your setup properly. From there we can give you an accurate, itemised proposal with no surprises. Ongoing support is usually a predictable monthly fee, and most practices find it costs less than the lost time and risk of an ad-hoc, break-fix approach.

What is a discovery session?

A discovery session is a fixed-fee assessment that gives you a clear, honest picture of where your practice stands. We review your systems, data and day-to-day processes against modern standards, including GDPR and PCI DSS, and show you exactly where the gaps are, including the areas the CMA's review of the veterinary sector has put under the spotlight. You come away with your risks, your priorities and a practical plan, whether or not you go on to work with us. It turns a vague worry about IT and compliance into something clear and actionable.

Are we tied into a long contract?

We aim to keep agreements straightforward and fair, and we would rather earn your business than lock you in. Contract terms are agreed up front and explained in plain English before you commit, so you always know where you stand. If you have specific concerns about length or notice periods, raise them in the consultation and we will be upfront about the options.

What happens in the free consultation?

The free consultation is a short, no-obligation conversation to understand what you are looking for, so we can guide and support you in the right way. We listen to what is prompting you to look at your IT, get a feel for how your practice runs, and point you toward sensible next steps, whether or not that ends up being us. There is no hard sell. If it makes sense to go further, the usual next step is a discovery session. You can book a time that suits you directly from our contact page.

How do we switch to you from our current IT provider?

Switching is more straightforward than most practices expect, because we manage the whole process for you. We start by documenting your current setup, then plan a phased handover so nothing is missed and nothing breaks. We coordinate with your outgoing provider to transfer accounts, passwords and access cleanly. You keep working throughout, and the goal is a move you barely notice.

Will switching IT providers disrupt our practice?

No, and that is the whole point of how we onboard. We plan the transition around your clinical day, doing the disruptive work out of hours where possible and moving things in stages rather than all at once. Your PMS, phones and day-to-day systems keep running while we take over behind the scenes. A good handover should be calm and boring, not a scramble.
